Jack Jorgensen, Chris Lawlor Scholarship Recipient

March 3, 2021

Congratulations to new OFFshore Hub member Jack Jorgensen of the Project 5: Floating facility data analytics for condition/ longevity monitoring stream on his recent scholarship win.

Jack, a first-year PhD student at UWA, has just commenced his study of the quantification and propagation of uncertainty through digital twins to predict remnant fatigue life of bolts in ring-flange joints on offshore wind turbine structures.

Commended by faculty for his enthusiasm during the framing of his PhD project, Jack has spent a decade working in industry, most recently in research and development for Carnegie Clean Energy. Jack aspires to continue his career in the offshore renewables sector after completing his studies, and is a worthy winner of the 2021 Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) Chris Lawlor Scholarship.

Well done Jack!
