PhD Student - Project Three
Zhechen recently completed his PhD thesis entitled “Changing soil strength and stiffness during pipe-soil interaction at the touch down zone” as part of the Reliable moorings and risers of the OFFshore Hub.
He is currently working as a short-term post-doctoral researcher working on various applications of offshore soil geotechnics, including (a) whole-life prediction of soil strength and stiffness considering the OCR effect under different loading regimes, (b) pipe-soil interaction tests considering water entrainment and trenching effects, and (c) natural soil characterisation.
